Like just about everything else, Worm Farming has also benefitted from the Internet

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Worm farms have come a long way since the advent of the Internet. In the past, if you wanted to construct your own worm farm you were for all intense and purposes left to your own devices. Worm Farming today is quite different. Not only can you go to a retailer online and purchase a worm farm for assembly, but if you are more the “do it yourself” kind of person, you can simply search for worm farm diagrams and you can see how to construct a worm farm that will meet any particular needs you might have for your own worm farm.

A really great decision

Friday, October 10th, 2008

I really needed to save some money when it came to doing gardening, and the way that the whole place was landscaped. So I took some advice from a friend and he told me that if I wanted to make my fence better I should choose one of the many styles of cheap bamboo fencing, because it really would make my garden look brilliant but without costing me a lot of money. I saw as I am concerned you really cannot get a better deal than that and I will do it again in order to keep the same look.

Not Just For The Country: Urban Composting

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

If you like the idea of organic fertilizers, but live in the city so thought it was impossible to do it yourself, think again. With worm farms, urban composting is not only possible, but easy. They fit easily anywhere: inside, or even on a shady balcony.
Worm bins are simple to come across. You can find kits or you can even build your own. Information is available online, at most lawn and garden stores, and at your local recycling or composting center.
Instructions and assistance are literally at your fingertips. There are many useful sites on the web, but there are also many places locally that should be as easy to find.

All you need to know about a greenhouse cover

Friday, August 1st, 2008

As a greenhouse owner I have always felt that the most important part of constructing a greenhouse is putting the greenhouse cover on the greenhouse. Since my builder did the job exceptionally well, I feel extremely lucky. Also the choice of the greenhouse cover was fortunately good. I opted for one that was easy to maintain, and stays put for a long time. Not only has this made the greenhouse more efficient, this has also ensured that the greenhouse looks better. According to me, a well selected and pasted Greenhouse Cover is a must for all greenhouses.

A great bargain

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

I was hunting for a greenhouse a few months ago and is part of it I decided to go on the Internet. While I was surfing various sites I came across a website that was advertising greenhouses for sale at fairly cheap prices. I did not wait to look any farther and simply ordered the greenhouse as soon as I possibly could. It arrived within three days, and now I have built it in my garden and I’m really proud of what I did.

A great little mover

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I am not very good with mechanical things because there are so many different things to think about I usually end up making the wrong decision. So when I came to buy a new lawnmower last month I decided to take the advice of a friend. After talking to her I decided that Toro lawnmowers would be the thing to go for. I bought quite an expensive one but I’m really glad I paid the money because it has made my life so much easier when it comes to cutting the lawn.

A good choice for me

Monday, July 14th, 2008

I have very little clue when it comes to buying garden implements and so I usually ask my friend for advice since she is a very keen gardener and always knows what is going on with this type of thing. Her advice was that I should buy a Husqvarna lawn mower because she’s got one herself and she said it is given had no trouble at all and always make the lawn look really great. I decided to follow her advice and I’m really glad I did.

Unbiased opinion of tru cut reel mowers

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I worked at one of the Tru cut company’s dealer stores for my summer job and though this may sound prejudiced coming from someone who has worked there, Tru Cut Reel Mowers are truly the best. My judgment is based on the regular feedback which we used to get from the customers. The majority had no complaints about their reel mowers. Even in this machine age, the mowers are constructed by hand and therefore the quality is incomparable. I have personally persuaded my parents to convert to a tru cut reel mower (without bias) after I saw first-hand the tremendous goodwill which it enjoyed among customers. It is especially good for us because they wanted an adjustable cutting height with rollers. Yes, they give you the option of rollers or wheels. Why not give it a try?

Consider security and looks while doing garden fencing

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

When I moved into my new house, I had got all furniture and fixture in place in advance. The only thing which was left pending to be done was the Garden Fencing, for which I was unable to decide the style and pattern. With such a beautiful garden in front of my house I needed something which can be ornamental to its looks and can also serve the purpose of security. I had a large number of options such as concrete fencing, bamboo fencing, metal fencing, steel fencing etc. I was quite confused until I took professional advise of a landscape designer who advised me to go for a metal fencing in rail forms which will enhance the look of my garden.

Insecticide For Caterpillars

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Someone has been eating my lettuce. Look I knwo it's only natural but somehow it anniys the living day lights out of me when I've gone to all the effort of planting and growing my own produce to finally get to reap the rewards of my harvest only to find things like caterpillars have gnored away at it. I don't like to use caterpillar insecticide but if I find a non chemical one I will. Of course they are not the only creepy crawlers I have problems with but what do you? Use insecticides which cause more harm then good or put up with them destroying my garden?
