A Toll Free Number in Germany

Friday, June 19th, 2009

I just started a hand crafting business in Germany where I live, and wanted to let people throughout Germany reach me for services. I offer lots of different hand crafting, so I wanted to make sure everyone could contact me. That’s why I got myself a Germany Toll Free Number, which they activated within hours of purchase. I received a private 866 number to use, as well as a 1800 number for my customers. I definitely know now where I will go if I ever decide to go international with my business. They offer such great help, and their support staff is so polite.

Don’t Cut Science Corners

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Research- it can make or break your science fair ideas. Once you have identified your topic, hit the library or the Internet and get going with the research. Do not cut corners when you are researching about the idea. The more thorough the research is, the better will be your project. Also make sure that you keep a note of references. If you need to refer back to the source of information when you are half way through the project, not having a reference list will delay your project by weeks, if not more.

Let us start from the beginning- choosing a project topic. There are plenty, practically innumerable number of project ideas. Right from Biology, to Chemistry to Physics- the choices are plenty. However, not all ideas are equally exciting, innovative or practical.

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

The Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) is a standardized test given to students in 3rd grade through 8th grade. The connecticut mastery test is designed to measure mastery of certain subjects—namely reading, writing, and math—and rate it on a five-point scale. A score of 5 indicates “advanced,” 4 indicates “goal,” 3 indicates “proficient,” 2 indicates “basic,” and 1 indicates “below basic.” The testing used to be given to students in 4th, 6th, and 8th grade, but the passage of the No Child Left Behind act required testing to be done every year. The Connecticut Mastery Test is given in all public schools across the state of Connecticut.

PCDI Offers Distance Learning Courses

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Web-based training [WBT] is very similar to CBT but uses the internet to deliver the instruction. Web-based training uses discussion groups, chats, bulletin boards, videos, videoconferencing and other interactive programs to deliver instruction. Web-based training initially was self paced with some on-line evaluation. Web-based training forms the basis for most on-line for credit classes offered in higher education. The old college by mail courses that used audio and video cassettes and printouts was replaced by on-line classes in the 80's and 90's. PCDI offers distance learning courses once run exclusively by 4 year colleges and universities now became the hot ticket for community colleges and technical and trade schools.

Collection of satellite photography in the map library

Friday, August 1st, 2008

I happened to visit the map section of the science library along with my astronaut friend. Although he was busy finding something, I was getting nothing except boredom from looking at the huge maps and photographs in the library. When he saw me getting bored he requested me to glance through a collection of satellite photography which may interest me. He was right, the photographs taken from satellite gave an aerial view of the earth and the different angles which were portrayed in the photographs were good enough to earmark different features of the topography of the earth. I was at least getting some interest in looking at these and was also trying to figure out various countries in the same.
