ANNE HECHE DIES AFTER CAR CRASH
Actress Anne Heche has passed away. The news comes after the 53-year-old was involved in a car crash in Los Angeles last week.
Heche sustained serious injuries when she crashed her car into an apartment block garage before driving off. She then crashed her car into a house.
Heche had two sons, Atlas (13) and 20-year-old Homer.
Homer shared an emotional statement with E! News:
“My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully, my Mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.”
Reports after the accident said that she was in a critical condition. She soon slipped into a coma before she died.
Heche suffered burns as well as a severe anoxic brain injury.
According to the BBC, the actress is legally dead, but will remain on life support to allow for a possible organ donation.
Heche made a name for herself in the world of soap dramas winning numerous awards, but she’s probably best known for starring in movies like Six Days, Seven Nights; Donnie Brasco; and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Tributes have been pouring in, including a heartfelt tweet from her former partner Ellen Degeneres.
“This is a sad day. I’m sending Anne’s children, family and friends all my love.”
Heche and Degeneres dated back in the 90s.
