CANADIAN CANDY COMPANY SEEKS CHIEF CANDY OFFICER

Just when you thought your dream job doesn’t exist, Candy Funhouse comes up with the ultimate role: Chief Candy Officer.

The online candy shop sells confectionary treats ranging from gummies and liquorice to chocolate. The position is being advertised for $100 000 Canadian per year. The position is based at home.

Candy Funhouse recently posted on LinkedIn that it’s seeking a Chief Candy Officer with duties including “leading candy board meetings, being the head taste tester… and all things fun.”

So far, the company has received applications from several thousand candidates.

The company is based just outside of the Canadian city of Toronto. The owners are four siblings in their 20s and 30s. They aren’t strangers to the food hospitality industry as they were raised by parents who owned doughnut shops as well as a local restaurant in the Toronto area.

Chief Executive Officer Jamal Hejazi said that he’s been surprised by the number of golden ticket themed applications and the elaborate videos of entire families offering to share the tasting duties and salary.

“My brother Mo, a candyhead, founded it in 2018 and my mother was employee no. 2,” said Hejazi who joined the firm at a later stage along with his younger sister and brother.

Hejazi emphasised the fun element of the position.

“Imagine your best memories around candy, and having that every day at work.”
