HEALTH IS WEALTH!
Health is wealth! There is an old saying that health is wealth, and it rings truer every time you see someone struck down by serious illness. When you are fit and going about your daily life, it is easy to forget how fragile that feeling of wellbeing really is. Most of us take it for granted until the day comes when we cannot. Suddenly nothing else matters. Not money, not work, not plans for the future. All you want is to feel normal again.I have seen this up close more times than I care to remember. Watching strong, active people reduced to lying in hospital beds, hooked up to machines and fighting for every breath, is confronting. Families sit quietly by their sides, their faces etched with worry. The conversations change from weekend plans and school fees to doctors' updates and medication schedules. In those moments you realise how much we assume good health will simply always be there. It is amazing how most people carry on as if nothing could ever go wrong. We skip meals, work endless hours, ignore the warning signs of tiredness or persistent aches, and tell ourselves we will slow down later. Then illness arrives without invitation. A sudden diagnosis, a bad infection, or a chronic condition that changes everything in an instant. The world does not stop, but your world does. You lie there thinking of all the things you would give to just feel well again. For everyday people this truth hits hardest in the small things. The parent who cannot play with their children because their back has seized up. The breadwinner forced to miss weeks of work after a heart scare. The young person whose energy vanishes because of something doctors cannot quickly fix. When you are sick, priorities shift immediately. You would trade any possession or achievement for one more day of pain-free living. The lesson is simple yet so often ignored. Looking after your health is not a luxury. It is the foundation that makes everything else possible. Eating decent food, moving your body regularly, getting enough sleep, and managing stress are not fads. They are investments that pay back in the most valuable currency of all: the ability to live fully.None of us is invincible. Seeing people really ill up close reminds you that good health can slip away quietly if neglected. Appreciate it while you have it. Make better choices today so tomorrow does not catch you unprepared. Because when sickness comes, as it does for all of us eventually, you will understand in the clearest possible way that health truly is wealth
