KING CHARLES HOSPITALISED

A temporary side effect from a scheduled cancer treatment has led to Britain’s King Charles being hospitalised.

Buckingham Palace was forced to cancel the monarch’s engagements planned for Thursday and Friday.

“Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer, the King experienced temporary side-effect that required a short period of observation in hospital.”

The 76-year-old is, however, still scheduled to visit Italy in a week as part of his state visit.

The King was advised to spend time resting over the weekend so that his medical team can review his state of health on Monday.

King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February last year but has been working through his treatments and hasn’t lessened his workload at all.

At the time, Palace officials didn’t disclose what form of cancer the King had. Details around his treatment weren’t disclosed either.

The Palace spokesman said: “His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result (of the cancellation). He very much hopes that they can be rescheduled in due course and offers his deepest apologies to all those who had worked so hard to make the planned visit possible.”
