MICHAEL JACKSON’S NEPHEW TO STAR AS HIM IN BIOPIC
A biographical movie about the life of Michael Jackson is in the works.
It was recently announced that the king of pop’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, will portray him in the movie.
Jaafar is the son of Michael’s oldest brother, Jermaine Jackson.
Lionsgate, the studio behind the much-anticipated movie, said that Michael will explore “the complicated man who became the King of Pop” and will include “all aspects of his life and his most noteworthy performances that set him on the path to becoming an icon in the musical world”.
Producer of the movie, Graham King shared his thoughts on the casting of Jaafar.
“It was clear that he is the only person to take on this role.” He added that he “cannot wait for the world to see him on the big screen as Michael Jackson”.
Before he made it famous as a successful solo artist, Michael was part of his family’s pop group the Jackson 5. Although he achieved huge success with the band, it’s nothing compared to the level of success he enjoyed as a solo artist.
In an interview, Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson, showed her support for the casting of Michael’s 26-year-old nephew.
“Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.”
