UNITED SHOCK ARSENAL IN 3-2 CLASSIC

Manchester United delivered one of their most thrilling Premier League victories in years, stunning leaders Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium and completely enlivening the title race.

After a slow start that saw Arsenal take the lead through a Lisandro Martínez own goal, United never panicked, and their resilience paid off spectacularly.

Arsenal looked in control early, but a misplaced pass from Martín Zubimendi let United level through Bryan Mbeumo before half-time. In the second half, Patrick Dorgu fired United ahead with a stunning long-range effort that curled into the top corner, sending travelling fans into raptures.

Arsenal fought back through Mikel Merino’s set-piece finish to make it 2-2. Still, it was substitute Matheus Cunha playing just minutes after coming on, who became the hero, rifling home an 87th-minute winner that’ll live long in United folklore.

The result was huge for United’s momentum. It’s their first league win at Arsenal since 2017, and it keeps alive a resurgence under interim boss Michael Carrick.

The former United midfielder took charge less than two weeks ago, and after also beating Manchester City last weekend, he’s already got six points from six, giving the club a new sense of belief.

Carrick’s message seems to be sinking in, with players buying into his demands for confidence and cohesion.

United moved up to fourth in the table with the win, and while they remain some way off the top, this kind of performance will convince fans they’re back to being dangerous against anyone.

Arsenal, meanwhile, suffered their first home defeat of the season and now see their once-comfortable lead at the summit trimmed, with Manchester City and Aston Villa closing in.
