BREVIS AND PARSONS FIRE PRETORIA CAPITALS INTO SA20 FINAL GLORY
The Pretoria Capitals have punched their ticket to the SA20 final, delivering a statement win that was both commanding and compelling.
In their Qualifier 1 clash against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Kingsmead in Durban on Tuesday, the Capitals chased down a stiff 171 with ease, finishing on 172-3 with nine balls to spare.
It was a day when young talent truly shone. Dewald Brevis led the way with a breathtaking 75 not out off 38 deliveries, smashing seven towering sixes and four quick boundaries as the pressure proved minimal once he and Bryce Parsons stitched together a decisive 91-run partnership for the third wicket.
Parsons was excellent all-round, first causing trouble with the ball and then anchoring the chase with a composed 60 from 44 balls. His 3-for-10 bowling figures helped restrict Sunrisers to their par total of 170/7, proving he was crucial in both disciplines.
The Capitals now await the winner of the Eliminator as they gear up for the final at Newlands in Cape Town this Sunday.
