WREXHAM PROMOTED TO CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE

It’s the story Hollywood movies are made of. Wrexham Football Club, the soccer club in Wales owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has been promoted for the third year in a row.

The club managed to win against Charlton 3-0 at home.

This is the third time that the club has been promoted after national League and League Two successes, and since Reynold and McElhenny bought the club. This means Wrexham has made history by becoming the first side to win three consecutive promotions in the top five English football leagues.

After the match, Reynolds shared a heartfelt message on Instagram:

"There are so many beating hearts of this club, but it all comes back to Phil and that leadership in the locker room. We don't make football decisions, thank God! The faith the club has in Phil and the community that speaks volumes.

"We said five years ago our goal was to make it to the Premier League. There were understandably a lot of laughs but it feels like a thing that could make it to fruition right now."

Reynolds was joined by his wife and fellow actor, Blake Lively, while McElhenney’s wife was Kaitlin Olson.
