FYRE FESTIVAL 2 CANCELLED
With only two months to go before the festival was set to start, the Fyre Festival 2 has been cancelled.
There was no official announcement or anything published on the festival’s website, but ticketholders were notified about their refund via an email sent to them, saying:
“The event has been postponed, and a new date will be announced. We have issued you a refund. Once the new date is announced, you can repurchase if it works for your schedule.”
The event was meant to occur in Mexico from 30 May to 2 June.
All eyes were on the festival after the disastrous 2017 version turned out to be any festivalgoer’s worst nightmare. What was offered wasn’t supplied, and festivalgoers lost thousands of dollars on an event that wasn’t planned properly.
The event was such a big fail that a documentary was made about it. “Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened” showcased the big buildup to the first version of the festival that was set to take place in the Bahamas.
The Netflix documentary showed footage of what festivalgoers experienced once they arrived and did interviews with them.
The organiser, Billy McFarland, ended up going to jail for fraud.
