AMAZON ON HIRING SPREE IN SA

If you’re keen on working for one of the world’s biggest companies, then get your CV ready because Amazon has a lot of job openings in South Africa.

Currently, there are more than 200 positions open and another 60 have been added last month.

Amazon has two offices in the country, one in Cape Town and another in Waterfall City, Johannesburg. Most of the jobs advertised are available in Cape Town, with some in Johannesburg.

Business Insider reports that the company is fighting for many of the same technical skills that are in high demand across several sectors in South Africa, including machine learning experts, engineers and software developers.

MyBroadband reported in January 2022 that Amazon was shopping around for warehouse space in South Africa. Amazon did not comment on its plans for the warehouses, but industry speculation suggested that it was looking to launch online shopping services.

Amazon is expected to be direct competition for Takealot.com when it launches its online shopping service. It’s rumoured that its Prime customer service option will also be available here soon.
