BARCA BACK ON TOP

Barcelona are back at the summit of La Liga, and they did it in style. On Sunday at Camp Nou, Hansi Flick’s side beat bottom-placed Real Oviedo 3–0 to reclaim first place in the Spanish top flight.

The win was powered by goals from Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and a stunning acrobatic strike from teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who once again showed why he’s one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

The Catalans struggled to break down a stubborn Oviedo defence, and their passing was patchy. But after the break, the champions found their rhythm. Olmo broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, capitalising on a turnover in the box, and five minutes later, Raphinha doubled the lead with a composed finish after pouncing on a defensive error.

The real show-stopper came in the 73rd minute. With the rain picking up at Camp Nou, Yamal met Olmo’s cross with a sensational scissor-kick volley that left the goalkeeper with no chance and sent the home crowd into raptures. It was a goal that not only sealed the result but also underlined his growing influence in Barca’s attack.

That victory lifted Barcelona back ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga table, with Barca now holding a slender one-point advantage.

Madrid had briefly taken pole position with a win on Saturday, but Barca’s response was emphatic. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid strengthened their grip on third with a solid 3–0 victory over Mallorca, though they remain several points adrift of the leaders.
