BRAD PITT SUES ANGELINE JOLIE OVER SELLING OF VINEYARD STAKE
Once upon a time, they used to be Hollywood’s golden couple, now they’re caught in a custody case surrounding their children and a lawsuit over shares in a French vineyard.
Bradd Pitt and Angeline Jolie bought a controlling stake of Chateau Miraval, a French vineyard in 2008. The pair also got married there in 2014.
News24 reports that according to a lawsuit filed by Pitt in California on Thursday, the couple “agreed they would never sell their respective interests in Miraval without the other’s consent.” The lawsuit requires a trial by jury.
Jolie sold her stake in the vineyard last October. It was sold to a “Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, according to AFP.
Reports suggest that Pitt contributed more money than Jolie when they purchased the vineyard and has long stopped contributing in any way. Pitt managed to keep the vineyard profitable and has said in the lawsuit that Jolie is trying to cash in on the profits even though she hasn’t been contributing to it.
The former couple’s custody battle has been dragging on for years with the FBI investigating claims that Pitt struck one of the children on a flight while they were still together.
