OSCARS 2022 NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

It’s the big announcement that every actor pretends not to know about but secretly plan their lives around.

It can only be the nominations for the 947 Academy Awards, otherwise known as the Oscars.

This year’s frontrunner in the nominations is The Power of the Dog. This drama received 12 nods from the academy including best director for Jane Campion. Campion made Oscar history by becoming the first woman to be nominated more than once for best director.

Another new record that has been set was by none other than Steven Spielberg. As the producer of West Side Story, Spielberg has been in the producer chair for 11 movies that have earned him the best producer nomination.

The nominations for best picture are:

Belfast

CODA

Don’t Look Up

Drive My Car

Dune

King Richard

Licorice Pizza

Nightmare Alley

The Power of the Dog

West Side Story

Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman both received nominations for their leading roles in Being the Ricardos.

The Oscars will take place on Sunday 27 March although the host for this year’s event has not been announced yet.
