THREE ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED HIJACKING AT SANDOWN HIGH SCHOOL

Earlier on Monday, three suspects were arrested after attempting to hijack a vehicle outside Sandown High School.

After attempting to hijack a vehicle outside Sandown High School in Johannesburg on Monday, three suspects were arrested by police. Several police vehicles are on the scene.

Initial reports said two of the suspects had been taken into custody while the third, who attempted to flee on foot through the school grounds after being shot, was false.

According to police Captain Granville Meyer, "The owner of the car stopped at an intersection and they [alleged hijackers] tried to hijack him. There was no shooting at the school and no one was wounded."

He said that officers from the Johannesburg flying squad and metro police department had arrested the three suspects who were taken to the Sandton Police Station.

The suspects‚ aged between 28 and 38‚ are expected in court soon while further investigations will be done.
