BTS TO DO MILITARY TIME

K-pop boyband BTS has announced that all members of the group will perform two years of military service.

In South Korea all able-bodied men who are under the age of 30 have to perform two years of military service. Failing to do so could mean jail time.

For years their birth country’s mandatory military service hung over the band with many speculating whether they deserved exemptions from the mandatory service.

Although exemptions from military service are sometimes granted to men who are elite athletes or classical musicians, pop start don’t qualify for the privilege.

Thew news was confirmed in a statement released by the group.

“The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfil their military service. The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfil their military service.

The oldest member of the band is 29-year-old Jin. If he doesn’t sign up by December, he could face jail time.

“Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October”, the statement added. “Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.”
