FIFA 2026 DAY 10 UPDATE!

FIFA World Cup 2026: Day 10 delivers late drama, dominant displays and a historic pointDay 10 of the 2026 World Cup brought plenty of excitement across four group stage matches on Saturday 20 June. There were comebacks, heavy defeats and one of the most memorable defensive performances in tournament history. In Group E at Toronto Stadium, Germany came from behind to beat Ivory Coast 2-1 in thrilling fashion. Franck Kessié gave the Africans the lead just before half-time with a smart finish after a dangerous run and cross from Yan Diomande. Germany looked frustrated until coach Julian Nagelsmann made changes. Substitute Deniz Undav turned the game on its head. He equalised in the 68th minute after a fine cross from Nadiem Amiri, then popped up again in the fourth minute of stoppage time to score the winner with an assist from Felix Nmecha. The victory sends Germany through to the knockout stage and puts them top of the group on six points.Elsewhere in Group E, Ecuador and Curaçao played out a goalless draw in Kansas City. Ecuador dominated possession and created chance after chance, but Curaçao goalkeeper Eloy Room produced a masterclass. He pulled off an incredible 15 saves to earn his side their first ever point at a World Cup finals. It was a remarkable achievement for the tiny Caribbean nation making their debut. The result keeps Group E wide open heading into the final round of matches.Over in Group F at Houston Stadium, the Netherlands put on a five-star show to hammer Sweden 5-1. Brian Brobbey opened the scoring in the fifth minute and added a second just before the break. Cody Gakpo then took over in the second half with a quick brace either side of the hour mark. Anthony Elanga pulled one back for Sweden, but Crysencio Summerville rounded things off late on with a fine strike from outside the box. The Dutch now sit top of Group F and look in great shape. The final match of the day saw Japan demolish Tunisia 4-0 in Monterrey. Daichi Kamada fired them ahead after just four minutes. Ayase Ueda added a second before half-time, Junya Ito made it three after the break, and Ueda completed his brace with a clever header late on. Japan were clinical and clinical throughout. Tunisia, who had already lost heavily to Sweden earlier in the tournament, now face an uphill battle to progress. What does tomorrow hold? The action continues on Sunday 21 June with another full day of group stage football.
