FIVE BODIES FOUND IN HENNOPS RIVER
While the
police were busy with an investigation into the disappearance of three
officers, more bodies were discovered in the Hennops River in Centurion,
Gauteng.
Three of
the bodies are believed to be that of the three police officers who went
missing last week. The constables, Boipelo Senoge, Keamogetwe Buys, and
Cebekhulu Linda were travelling in a white Polo to Polokwane.
The vehicle
was last seen at an Engen garage on the N1 close to the Grasmere toll plaza. Since
then, their tracking devices and phones have been off line.
The
investigation led police to the Hennops River where they discovered debris of
the Polo and the three bodies.
The two
other bodies discovered were not related to the case.
A police
helicopter was brought in to help search for the bodies and the car when golfers
playing nearby flagged down the helicopter and informed police of the fourth
body.
Operations
are still continuing as the SAPS search and rescue services will remain on the
scene.
National
Police Commissioner Fanie Masemola met with the families of the missing police
officers on Sunday before the discovery of their bodies.
At the
time, a reward for any information regarding the disappearance of the three
officers was offered.
