IVANKA’S FATHER-IN-LAW GIVEN ROLE BY TRUMP
President-elect Donald Trump has started to appoint his cabinet and other important positions.
One of them is the French Ambassador, a position that’s caused quite a stir since it was given to Charles Kushner.
Kushner is Trump’s daughter, Ivanka’s father-in-law.
In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “I am pleased to nominate Charles Kushner, of New Jersey, to serve as the US Ambassador to France. He is a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker, who will be a strong advocate representing our Country & its interests.”
Trump then referred to the connection between Kushner and himself: “His son, Jared, worked closely with me in the White House, in particular on Operation Warp Speed, Criminal Justice Reform, & the Abraham Accords.”
Kushner himself isn’t without controversy. He’s a real estate developer who was pardoned by Trump after he was convicted of federal charges in 2005.
CNN reports that Kushner pleaded guilty in 2005 to 16 counts of tax evasion, one count of retaliating against a federal witness and another count of lying to the Federal Election Commission. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
