LADY GAGA TO HOLD FREE CONCERT IN RIO

If sources close to the superstar are to be believed, Lady Gaga is set to hold a free concert in Rio de Janeiro. The location? The infamous Copacabana Beach.

Although an official announcement is still pending, one of the sources said “You can bet it will be her (Lady Gaga) and the concert should take place on May 3”.

The concert forms part of Mayor Eduardo Paes’s plans to establish an entire month of celebrations in the city. Labelled “Celebration May,” Paes wants to bring international superstars to perform for free to boost the local economy.

Earlier this week, Paes said he had a preliminary deal to bring an international pop star for next year’s Copacabana concert, but he didn’t disclose who the artist was.

In May of this year, Madonna drew an audience of an estimated 1.6 million for her free Copacabana Beach show. The pop queen sang most of her famous songs including “Like A Prayer” and “Vogue”.

It’s believed the announcement will be made in the coming weeks and final arrangements are being put in place.
