MELINDA GATES REVEALS WHY SHE DIVORCED BILL GATES

Once married to the richest man in the world, Belinda Gates has revealed why she decided to divorce her estranged husband Bill after 27 years of marriage.

Since the announcement of the divorce, Melinda has gone back to using her maiden name as well and she is now known as Melinda French Gates.

Melinda spoke to Gayle King on CBS Mornings during an interview in which she said there wasn’t only one thing that made her decide to leave her estranged husband, but rather a series of things.

“It wasn’t one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realised it just wasn’t healthy, and I couldn’t trust what we had.”

During the interview, Melinda also revealed that during their marriage Bill met with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“As I said, it’s not one thing. It was many things. But I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Since the interview aired, Bill has issued a public apology to Melinda on social media.

“I will always be sorry for the pain that I caused Melinda and our family. I admire Melinda and everything she does to improve the lives of women and girls around the world, and I’m grateful for the work we continue to do together at our foundation.”

Business Insider reports that their divorce became finalised last August, after which Melinda joined the ranks of the world’s wealthiest women.
