PARTS OF GAUTENG TO BE WITHOUT POWER FOR 9 HOURS

A nine-hour power outage on two separate days is being planned by Eskom. This means parts of Snake Park in Soweto will be without power for the duration of the planned maintenance.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 19 November and Wednesday 20 November. On both days, the maintenance will take place from 09:00 to 18:00.

The planned maintenance will be conducted on the distribution network.

The affected areas in Snake Park are blocks 4,5,6 and 7 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The failure to conduct regular maintenance has led to widespread power outages throughout the country. Besides loadshedding, planned and unplanned outages have left South Africans in the dark.

With the planned power outages, the state-owned utility hopes to keep up to date with all the much-needed maintenance and to sort out the backlog.
