SECOND BATCH OF AFRIKANER REFUGEES ARRIVE IN US
The second batch of white Afrikaners arrived in the United States on Friday.
They form part of US President Donald Trump’s resettlement offer relating to claims of a white genocide in South Africa. It stems from Trump’s executive order issued in February, in which he cited the Expropriation Act 13 of 2024 as the reason why Afrikaners are persecuted in South Africa.
The first group arrived on a private plane chartered specifically for them last month.
The second group travelled on a commercial flight, which landed in Atlanta.
Jaco Kleynhans, head of Public Relations for Solidarity, said there are 8,000 refugees in total.
“Several more groups will fly to the USA over the next few weeks. The US Embassy in Pretoria, in collaboration with the State Department in Washington DC, is currently processing 8,000 applications, and we expect many more Afrikaner refugees to travel to the USA over the next few months.”
Kleynhans said he is currently campaigning to put added pressure on the South African government ahead of the G20 summit.
He also denied that this refugee path is politically motivated.
“The American refugee programs are paid for by American taxpayers, and it is outrageous that international organisations and foreign groups think they can dictate to the Trump administration who should be eligible for refugee status.”
