WARREN BUFFET DONATES $870 MILLION TO CHARITY AS THANKSGIVING DONATION

Warren Buffet has kept his promise and has made another massive donation as part of his Thanksgiving tradition.

He donated $870,000 million to four different foundations. The donation is in the form of shares and he has divided it up between a foundation named after his wife, with three other foundations run by his children sharing the rest of the shares.

The shares form part of his Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate.

In 2022, Buffet donated about $750 million to the same foundations, a tradition he has kept up since 2006.

The multi-billionaire said that he “repeat those donations made at Thanksgiving last year” and that they “supplement certain of the lifetime pledges I made in 2006 and that continue until my death”.

The 93-year-old joked that he “feels good, but fully realises that (he’s) playing ain extra innings”.

Although Buffet still remains in control of the company, he named Greg Abel as his successor back in 2021, a position Abel still fills to this day.

Buffet made his money through investments, starting investing at the young age of 11.
