WILLIAM AND KATE BOOED AT BASKETBALL GAME
The future king and queen of England were booed when it was announced that they are in the crowd at a basketball game.
The game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat took place in Boston, United States.
After the couple stood for the United States national anthem, the stadium announcer introduced them and their faces were shown on the big screen.
While some fans could be heard loudly cheering “USA, USA”, boos could be heard from others.
The couple’s trip to Boston has been overshadowed by a race row back home at Buckingham Palace.
Queen Elizabeth II’s former lady-in-waiting, has been left with no choice but to resign from her role in the royal household. She issued an apology after it came to light that she repeatedly asked a black British-born domestic abuse charity boss where she “really came from”.
A representative for Kensington Palace, home to the Prince and Princess of Wales, said in a statement that “racism has no place in our society”.
According to RTE, the couple sat courtside alongside Massachusetts Governor-Elect, Maura Healy, Celtics legend Thomas “Satch” Sanders, and the team’s two principal owners and their wives.
