NETFLIX SERIES TO LOOK DIFFERENT FOR EACH SUBSCRIBER

Talk about personalising your viewing experience. Netflix has announced that it has launched a heist anthology series featuring non-sequential episodes that will be presented to subscribers in different orders.

The idea behind the experience is to create unique viewing experiences for viewers.

The series, Kaleidoscope, follows a crew of masterful thieves who work to unlock a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history.

It stars Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian fame.

In a statement released by Netflix, some background is given.

“Before they can get their hands on the cash, they must make it through the world’s most powerful corporate security team and the FBI.”

The eight episodes will be sorted according to colour and are non-sequential. While one viewer might start watching the series on yellow, other might start with green.

The storyline will be the same and every viewer will eventually see all the episodes, but the order in which they watch them will affect their viewpoint of the story.

Creator Eric Garcia said that there are questions that are going to be asked in one episode that are answered in another episode.

“Similarly, there’ll be answers in an episode that you’re watching that you don’t even know are answers to something until you see the question when you watch another episode.”

Catch Kaleidoscope on Netflix from 1 January 2023.
