WOMAN ILLEGALLY ENTERS SPACEX FACILITY TO SPEAK TO ELON MUSK
A 20-year-old woman has been arrested after she illegally tried to enter SpaceX’s facility in Texas. This is where the company plans to launch its Starship rocket.
Nivea Rose Parker pretended to be a SpaceX worker, originally from Pennsylvania.
According to a press release released by Cameron County’s Sheriff, Parker was spotted on Wednesday when she was “roaming” around the fifth floor of a company building.
“Parker had stated that she worked at SpaceX and wanted to speak to (the CEO Elon) Musk. Deputies found in a preliminary investigation that she wasn’t a SpaceX employee and surveillance cameras showed her entering the building at around 17:30.
Once security realised that she isn’t an employee, she tried to run away. She was caught on the SpaceX grounds and taken to Carrizales-Rucker Detention Centre.
She faces third-degree felony charges for assaulting a public servant during the arrest, as well as various Class A misdemeanour for criminal trespassing, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.
Business Insider reports that it’s not the first time that someone has illegally gained access to the facility.
“Police issued an arrest warrant in May 2021 for a YouTuber who got into the SpaceX facility and filmed himself walking around the launch site, near the Starship rocket. In 2019, a SpaceX fan was accused of criminal trespassing and arrested on suspicion of getting too close to one of the company’s rocket prototypes.
