CELINE DION DOCUMENTARY ANNOUNCED

With the hope of raising awareness about her condition, pop star Celine Dion is releasing a new documentary about her condition.

According to a statement, the documentary, named I Am: Celine Dion, is a feature-length film and will show a “snapshot” of the Canadian’s life and career as she battles Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS).

“This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me.”

Although no release date was given, the documentary will be released on streaming platforms and will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.

In May 2023, the singer was forced to cancel a series of shows scheduled for 2023 and 2024. At the time, she said she wasn’t strong enough to do a tour anymore. News of her condition broke in December 2022.

News24 reports that those with SPS experience stiff muscles in the torso, arms and legs, with noise or emotional distress known to trigger spasms. Other symptoms can include slurred speech and double vision.
