GOO GOO DOLLS POSTPONE SA TOUR

US rock band Goo Goo Dolls has announced that they’re postponing their South African tour.

This comes after the band’s lead singer, John Rzeznik was diagnosed with pneumonia. He’s been hospitalized since 1 December.

The tour was scheduled to take place from 4 to 7 December but has now been postponed to 25 to 29 March 2025.

The news was announced by Rzeznik from his hospital bed. In the message, he said:

“We’re heartbroken to postpone our South Africa shows. This country means so much to us, and we were so excited to create more memories with you. Sadly, my doctor has advised rest and recovery. Thank you for understanding – we’ll make it worth the wait when we return in March 2025!”

Pneumonia is a serious condition for the average person, but for vocalists, it’s even more serious because it not treated, it could have lasting negative effects on a singer’s vocal cords.

Concert organisers have confirmed that tickets for the December 2024 concerts will still be valid for the March 2025 concerts.

The venues stay exactly the same, and the new dates are:

-            Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Gardens: 25 March

-            Durban: 27 March

-            Pretoria, Voortrekker Monument, 29 March
