NESTLé RECALLS KIT KATS
There’s a possibility that one of South Africa’s favourite chocolate bars might contain pieces of glass.
Nestlé South Africa has announced that it is recalling some of its Kit Kat chocolate bars.
In a statement, the chocolate manufacturer said “to date, we have not received any complaints or reported injuries. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution having discovered the presence of small pieces of glass during our quality and safety checks”.
Only certain sizes Kit Kat products have been affected with Nestlé supplying the list to media outlets.
Nestlé South Africa has urged the public to be on the lookout for the affected products and avoid them. If anyone has consumed one of the affected products, they are urged to consult a medical professional for help.
Following the announcement of the voluntary recall, the company has said that it is currently investigating what could have gone wrong.
“We understand that people will be concerned and apologise unreservedly to them. We regret very much any inconvenience caused by this recall”.
The company has confirmed to News24 that it is cooperating with the National Department of Health about the recall.
