PARENTS ALLOW 6-YEAR-OLD TO RUN 42KM MARATHON

Child Protection Services in the United States is currently investigating the parents of a six-year-old after they allowed him to run a 42-kilometre marathon with them.

Kami and Ben Crawford ran in the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon along with their children Dove, 20; Eden, 19; Seven, 17; Memory, 15; Filia, 11 and Rainier, 6.

Over the last nine years, the family has run 11 marathons together. This was Rainier’s first marathon.

The family has their own social media accounts on various platforms where they regularly show their followers what adventures they’ve been up to.

While most fans are loving the content, the latest post about Rainier running a marathon has left some of them outraged.

A caption posted on Instagram along with a photo of Rainier holding Pringles chips read “on the marathon course, Rainier knew they usually hand out Pringles around mile 20. He was struggling physically and wanted to take a break and sit every three minutes. After 7 hours, we finally got to mile 20 only to find an abandoned table and empty boxes. He was crying, and we were moving slow, so I told him I’d buy him two sleeves if he kept moving. I had to promise him another sleeve to get him in the family pic at the finish line. Today I paid him off”.

Followers weren’t afraid to share their disgust while a US Olympian Kara Goucher also weighed in on the matter.

The outcome of the investigation is still unclear.
