RUSSELL BRAND ACCUSED OF RAPE AND ASSAULT BY FOUR WOMEN
British actor and comedian Russell Brand has been accused by four different women of rape and assault.
The 48-year-old has denied all accusations. He maintains that all of his relationships have been consensual.
One of the women have accused Brand of raping her while the three others accuse him of sexual assault.
The events took place between 2006 and 2013.
The accusers have all been granted pseudonyms in the police’s paperwork.
The woman who is accusing the comedian of raping her, said the incident took place at Brand’s home in Los Angeles in 2012.
The Time of London published a report including medical records that show she was treated at a rape crisis centre on the day of the alleged incident. Although she also had therapy sessions at the rape centre for five months, she declined to file a police report over the matter.
Broadcasters like the BBC and Channel 4 where Brand was a presenter, have launched their own internal investigation.
Brand’s agent and publisher have dropped him when news of the accusations came to light.
