SA MUSICIAN AND BRITISH FIANCEE FOUND DEAD IN VIETNAMESE HOTEL
A South African musician and his British fiancée were both found dead in their holiday villa in Vietnam. The villa is located in Vietnam’s Nam province.
Local police said 36-year-old Els Arno Quinton’s body was found on a bed and 33-year-old Greta Marie Ottesen’s body was found on a bed in another room.
Quinton was born in Durban and was a musician and live streamer. Otteson was from Swansea in Wales and a social media manager.
The pair got engaged on 11 December 2024 and the news was shared on Instagram.
Hotel staff discovered their bodies when they arrived on Boxing Day to clean the property.
The couple has been long-term residents at the Hoi An Silverbell villa since they moved in in July 2024.
Tributes have been shared on social media with one person saying “Greta loved Arno unconditionally and was his bedrock, giving him the freedom to do what he needed to do without a faltering foundation”.
According to The Independent, a provincial police spokesperson said: “There were no signs of ransacking at the scene. The victims’ belongings and phones were untouched”.
At this stage, it’s not clear what the cause of the couple’s deaths is.
