TOP 25 COMPANIES TO WORK FOR IN SA
LinkedIn has published its annual top companies list. This is the sixth time that the networking platform has published its list, but the first time that South African companies are included as well.
To be eligible, companies are required to have at least 500 employees as of 31 December 2021. Employee attrition isn’t allowed to be higher than 10% over the prior 12 months.
Business Tech reports that companies were selected based on a combination of research and unique member data, with LinkedIn focusing on workplaces where professionals can ‘grow their careers’, and which make the biggest impact in the professional world.
The list only features parent companies. This means majority-owned subsidiaries and associated data are included in that of the parent company.
Standard Bank was ranked the top company to work for in South Africa, followed by the FirstRand Group. Media company WPP was the only non-banking firm in the top five. It came in third followed by Nedbank and ABSA in fourth and fifth place respectively.
The rest of the top 10 companies comprised The Coca-Cola Company, Investec, Vodacom, Dimension Data and Amazon.
LinkedIn said the list is meant to be a resource for employees, guiding professionals at every stage, whether that means a career pivot, jumping back into the workforce after a hiatus or investing in new skills.
