South Africa’s favourite music festival is back with a bang.

Ultra South Africa will take place in March 2023. It will be the first time since 2020 that the event is back. The pandemic made it impossible for an event this big to take place, so the organisers had to wait patiently for the moment to arrive.

The news was announced in a statement by the festival organisers:

“It’s been three long years of no dancing outdoors, no laughing out loud, no loving of life and singing of songs on some of the world’s best festival dance floors. Three years of no world-class international DJs, no Ultra Angels, no over-the-top fireworks and pyro, and only those epic three-year-old memories to keep us all going. But not anymore…”

The return of the festival will also see another city playing host. Previously Ultra was only held in Johannesburg, but this time there will be two events.

The first one will be held at the Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town on 10 March 2023 and the other one will be presented at The Expo Centre at Nasrec in Johannesburg.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 23 September 2022.
