US MASS SHOOTINGS NUMBERS SHOCK

Over just one weekend, 13 mass shootings occurred in the United States.

This weekend, 18 victims have died so far, and 72 have been injured. This included a 12-year-old who was injured and a 14-year-old girl who died.

The stats, obtained from the Gun Violence Archive, says that at least five of the shootings this weekend took place in a public area, while at least three were carried out at graduation parties.

The Associated Press reports that 14 people were hit by gunfire at a nightclub early Sunday, and three more were struck by vehicles as people fled the scene. It’s believed that multiple shooters were involved in the incident in Tennessee. The investigation is still ongoing.

In Philadelphia, a popular entertainment district was hit when multiple shooters opened fire. At least three people died and 11 more were injured, according to CNN.

“At this point, we don’t know whether or not the altercation that took place was between a group of individuals, or if this was tied to another group or affiliation,” said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.

Outlaw also said that five guns were used in the incident. One of the shooters was wounded by police, but managed to escape.

Multiple mass shootings also occurred across the country over the weekend in Arizona (two), South Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and Michigan.
