WATCH LOST OFF WELSH COAST FOUND IN IRELAND

A woman lost her smartwatch while swimming off the coast of Wales, and three weeks later, a man found it while swimming off the coast of Ireland.

Martina Morgan was swimming in the Welsh town of Tenby when she realised the buoyancy aid that she had attached her Garmin watch to had come loose and drifted out to sea.

Morgan made peace with the idea that her watch would be missing forever.

“I had to say goodbye to my watch, which my husband gave me for Christmas, and I was pretty annoyed.”

Surprisingly, three weeks later, she got a Facebook message to let her know her watch had been found a massive 250 kilometres from where she lost it… In another country.

Irishman Sean Corcoran discovered the watch, which was still attached to the buoyancy aid float in Waterford.

“The buoyancy aid caught my eye, and then I discovered there was a watch attached to it. When I got home, I tested some of the buttons, and I looked up the model and the make. I figured it was just out of battery.”

Curiosity got the better of Corcoran, and he borrowed a Garmin charger from a friend of his. Once charged, he could see who the watch belonged to as Morgan’s name was attached to it.

Through Facebook, he got hold of Morgan and sent her a message to let her know her watch has been found and it’s still working.
