WHATSAPP TO LAUNCH NEW CHANGES
Updates to apps have become part of our everyday lives. They often happen without us even noticing them.
But, if updates are made to the world’s favourite messaging app, it’s a biggy.
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, recently announced that it’ll be making four big changes to its app. The changes will first be tested with beta testers to identify possible bugs. Once the testing phase is completed, the new features will be released to the general public.
One of the big changes is related to video calls.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, recently announced the launch of new backgrounds and filters that can be used when making WhatsApp video calls.
“These updates are designed to create a more fun and expressive environment for users during video calls. The background options are varied, allowing users to virtually transport themselves to a vibrant city skyline or a beach sunset, enhancing the visual appeal of their calls.”
Another big change is the availability of 22 new themes for the app.
Currently, users can choose a theme that’s the same across the entire app. Soon, users will be able to choose a different theme for different chats.
For example, one theme could be used for family chats, another for friend chats and another theme for work chats.
These themes won’t be visible to other users.
