WOMAN FALLS TO HER DEATH AT THEME PARK IN US

A woman fell to her death from a chairlift at a theme park in the United States. The incident happened at the Anakeetsa Theme Park in the state of Tennessee.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the Gatlinburg Fire & Rescue Department pronounced the woman dead.

It’s believed the woman in her late 20s fell from the lift about three-quarters of the way up the hill. The lift takes visitors into the mountaintop park in Gatlinburg.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to local news sites, a few of the other visitors to the park tried to alert the woman that her safety railing was up and that she will fall out.

It’s believed that the operator continued to operate the chairlift for several minutes after the woman fell as they didn’t realise that the incident happened.

A spokesperson for the theme park said in a statement that “a tragic incident occurred this evening. 911 was called immediately. Our hearts are with the family of the deceased.”

At this moment it’s not clear whether the woman’s family will ask the police to open a case against the theme park for negligence.
