Amelia Morris isn’t your average football-playing schoolgirl.
The 10-year-old has managed to score a massive 143 times in only one season.
Morris finished as the top scorer at her club Gurnos FC in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. To give those teams playing against her team a chance to score as well, Morris was often taken off halfway through games.
But, Morris’ athletic talents aren’t only limited to football. Even before the age of five, she has represented Wales at the kickboxing world championship and has even won four gold medals.
Morris’ dad, Jamie, says her ball sense has been evident from a very young age.
“Ever since she was born she’s always had a ball in her hand or kicking it. But on Gurnos we didn’t have any football teams for girls of that age, so she was about eight when she started.”
Jamie admits that she would’ve been able to score even more goals if they hadn’t decided to substitute her during some of the games, but something he deems fair.
“If we hadn’t taken her off she would have been on even more goals by the end of the season.”
