CLIMATE ACTIVISTS TRASHES WALMART HEIRESS’ YACHT

Two protestors from Futuro Vegetal have been arrested after they doused Nancy Walton Laurie’s yacht in red and black paint.

Laurie is the heiress of the Walmart group in the United States.

The superyacht, named Kaos and estimated to be worth more than R5.6 billion, was attacked while it was moored in Ibiza on Sunday.

Footage has been shared by news agencies featuring the two protestors as they approach the yacht and then begin to spray paint over it. Staff on board the Kaos can then be seen running and attempting to wash the paint off with water.

The footage also shows the protestors holding up a sign that says “You Consume Others Suffer”.

According to the Daily Mail, Futurro Vegetal describes itself as a collective of civil disobedience and direct action fighting against the climate crisis. It states: “We don’t have time to keep trying the same tactics we’ve been using for years.”

The group states that it is fighting against the climate crisis.
