ELTON JOHN AUCTIONS OFF CLOTHES FOR CHARITY
Elton John isn’t only known for his successful music career that has spanned decades, but also for his flamboyant outfits on and off stage.
Now, the 77-year-old is giving fans the chance to own a bit of his legacy.
In aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the singer will be selling hundreds of items from his personal closet online.
Items that will be available during the 10-day auction on eBay include Versace robes, baseball caps, customised Prada loafers, historic concert t-shirts and Gucci jackets.
In a statement released by the singer, he said the Rocket Man Resale is about “giving new life to the cherished items from my wardrobe that’s always been special to me. For decades I’ve donated my closet’s treasures to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation”.
The timing of the sale isn’t by chance as it’s taking place during Pride Month.
The Elton Johan AIDS Foundation was set up in 1992 by the singer and aims to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
All of the items on sale have formed part of John’s house in Atlanta, USA. He lived there for over 30 years
“This Pride Month, I’m excited to share my Atlanta treasure trove on eBay, hoping these items will inspire you to express your unique spirit and bring you as much joy as they’ve brought me.”
