FERRARI’S ELECTRIC MODEL COMING SOON
Ferraris are known for their roaring petrol engines, sleek designs and incredible speed. Things are about to change for the first time.
The auto manufacturer’s CEO Benedetto Vigna said its much-awaited electric vehicle (EV) will be showcased at a capital markets day on 9 October. The event will take place at Ferrari’s base in Maranello, Italy.
Along with the EV, five other new models will also be rolled out this year.
Vigna said the company plans wouldn’t be affected by Trump’s policies in the United States or by the risk of a trade war.
The company hopes that its EV will assist its growth target of at least 5% in revenue and core earnings.
What the Italian brand’s EV will cost is a hot topic and speculations are rife. A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that it could cost at least 500,000 euros which translates to R9.5 million rand.
That estimated price tag doesn’t include special features and personal touches that usually add 15 to 20% to the price.
Reuters reports that the Italian company on Tuesday forecasted its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) would increase to at least 2.68 billion euros in 2025, from 2.56 billion euros in 2024.
