LOADSHEDDING IS BACK

After more than 10 months of no loadshedding, it’s back.

The news broke on Friday morning when Electricity and Energy Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, announced that scheduled loadshedding would start that afternoon and continue over the weekend.

The reason for the return of loadshedding is due to the breakdown of six units at some of the country’s biggest power stations.

“This is a temporary setback and I am sure that we can announce the end of loadshedding at the end of March once we add 2,500 Megawatts to capacity,” he said.

Ramokgopa apologised to the country.

“I want to issue a profuse apology for the return of loadshedding, but we are within touching distance of calling an end to loadshedding.”

South Africans weren’t happy and took to social media to share their disappointment and frustrations.

The Angry Dwarf replied to Eskom’s post on X: “How’s that diesel you burning nonstop going? Burning billions of Rands, to supplement incompetence? Let’s not forget Eskom supplied half the continent at one point with electricity.”

Eugene Nadasen said on X: “The job of Eskom is to supply electricity, if u r not doing ur job consistently, how on earth do u deserve a performance bonus? We living in a clown world.”
