JAMES RODRíGUEZ EYES LA LIGA RETURN AS LEóN EXIT LOOMS
Colombian playmaker James Rodríguez is reportedly preparing for a big change: The former Real Madrid star could be heading back to La Liga once his contract with Club León expires on 31 December.
Real Sociedad has emerged as a top candidate for the 34-year-old’s return to Spain and the La Liga tournament. The Basque club is said to be eyeing his creative spark, long-range vision, and ability to unlock defences, qualities that would fit perfectly with its attacking ambitions.
But any move would depend on both the financial side and James’s commitment to a project that demands regular performance.
At the same time, his future in Mexico appears to be winding down. Reports indicate that his stint with León will end later this year, with neither side planning a contract renewal.
Linked with interest from several MLS clubs, James is said to be seriously considering a move to the United States, potentially to an Eastern Conference team, as he prepares for the next chapter of his career and readies himself for the 2026 World Cup.
