KEVIN JONAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER
Singer Kevin Jonas has been diagnosed with skin cancer. He confirmed the diagnosis in a posted video on his social media accounts.
“So today I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head. Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that started to grow and now I have to get surgery to remove it.”
CNN reports that basal cell carcinoma is a common form of skin cancer that can look like an elevated transparent bump on the skin and most frequently occurs on the head, neck and other areas most exposed to the sun.
The Jonas Brothers singer encouraged his followers to visit their dermatologists and “make sure to get those moles checked”.
After his treatment, Jonas posted a video of himself with a bandage on his head. In the video, he said he was going home “to heal”.
The Skin Cancer Foundation commented on the 36-year-old’s post on Instagram.
“So sorry to hear about your BCC, Kevin. Thank you for raising awareness. Early detection is key. Wishing you the best on your recovery journey.”
