WOMAN GETS LIFT FROM COLDPLAY LEAD SINGER

A disabled woman was on her way to go home when Coldplay's front man pulled over and offered her a lift.

Saundra Glenn has osteoarthritis and a “dodgy right hip”, and was on her way to the accessibility box office when she paused a fence. She considered going home because she was uncomfortable.

A black Mercedes then pulled up next to her and a lady offered to give her a lift. When she got in the car, Chris Martin was also in the car.

Saundra told the BBC her first reaction was: “The door opened and I said, ‘Oh, that’s Chris Martin, I can’t get in with him’ and they said ‘Yes you can’.

Martin’s car took Saundra to the artist area at the Radio 1 Big Weekend concert in Luton where he organised her a lift home. She decided to stay after all since his band was the only reason she went to the event.

“I’m 64 Chris, I don’t do festivals, I’ve come just to see you and now I’ve seen you and I can go home.”
