ANDREA BOCELLI HEADING TO SOUTH AFRICA

Opera sensation Andrea Bocelli is heading to South African shores in 2025. The shows will take place at the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria on 12 and 13 April, and at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town on 16 April.

All three shows will form part of the Italian’s 30th anniversary tour.

A guest artist, yet to be announced, as well as a soprano, a 69-piece orchestra and a 60-piece choir will join him on stage.

The orchestra is set to consist of the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, while the choirs will be the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Philharmonic Choir of Cape Town.

Bocelli, who released his last studio album in 2020, has sold more than 90 million records since he won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994.

With performances across the world, Bocelli has gained a massive following and even a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

During his career, he has been nominated for a Grammy Award and a Latin Grammy Award six times respectively.

Ticketmaster reports that he has performed for four Presidents of the United States of America, three Popes, the British Royal Family, many Prime Ministers and also at the ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
