WOOLWORTHS RECALLS COUNTRY ROAD MUGS

If you’ve got a Country Road mug that “unexpectedly breaks” when you pour hot liquid into it, you’re about to get refunded.

That’s because Woolworths has recalled four Country Road mug lines. The specific versions of the Country Road Two-Tone DEMM Mug range are the Lilac, Dark Olive, Sapphire, and Bermuda.

The group said in a statement that customers are asked to return the mugs to any Woolworths store for a full refund.

“This is due to a manufacturing defect having been identified in certain mugs, causing the mug to unexpectedly break when hot liquid is poured into it, resulting in the base separating from the body of the mug.”

This isn’t the first time this year that Woolworths has recalled one of its products. In February, the retail giant’s peanut butter ice cream brand was recalled over possible health risks.

The brand identified the product to contain higher than legal levels of the naturally occurring aflatoxin. The higher levels can be dangerous to humans.
